A presentation and induction ceremony was held on Friday, October 18, 2013, in the auditorium at Robbinsdale High School. The ceremony honored twelve individuals who were among Robbinsdale High School's most outstanding athletes and coaches between 1938 and 1982.
The main criteria used in selecting these 12 individuals was as follows:
- Outstanding high school athletic achievements or significant contributions to Robbinsdale High School Athletics.
- Conference and/or state-wide recognition as a prep athlete or coach.
- Collegiate, and in some cases professional achievements.

Irv Nerdahl, Coach
Head football coach from 1942-1973. Career record of 174-66 with ll ties. The Robins won two mythical state championships and 11 Lake Conference championships during that time.
Verne Gagne, 1943
Lettered in football, baseball and wrestling. He was a state champion in wrestling and was named all-state in football in 1942.
Don Dale, 1950
All-state basketball player and Robbinsdale High School's first 1,000 point scorer. He led the Robins to its first state basketball appearance in 1950.
H.W. "Doc" Spurrier, Coach, Trainer, Athletic Director
Varsity football assistant to Irv Nerdahl from 1952-1963. Played many roles in athletics through the years including athletic trainer, equipment manager and athletic director.
Tom Loechler, 1958
Earned a total of eight varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball. He was All-Conference his junior and senior years in football.
Dennis Claridge, 1959
Lettered in football, basketball and track. He was an All-Lake Conference quarterback and a member of the Robins' 1958 mythical state championship football team.
Julian Hook, 1959
Four-year letterman in wrestling and was an undefeated state champion his junior and senior years. Julian was a two-year letter winner in football his junior and senior years.
Len Lilyholm, 1959
Earned ten varsity letters at RHS and was a captain in football, hockey, and track and field. He is the only RHS hockey player ever to be named all-state.
Larry Peterson, 1961
Earned nine varsity letters at RHS in football, basketball, baseball, and track and field. Larry was an all-state quarterback in football his senior year.
Tom Heinonen, 1963
One of the greatest long distance runners in school history. Tom earned six varsity letters, including three each in track and cross country, and was named RHS athlete of the year in his senior year.
Randy Sonnenfeld, 1976
He earned eight varsity letters, including three in basketball, two each in football and baseball, and one in track and field. He was All-State in football his senior year.
Cindy Sneddon, 1976
Captained the 1976 Robins gymnastics team that won the only state championship in girls athletics at RHS. She won the school's Athena Award in 1976, honoring the most outstanding female athlete in the senior class.
